IALYSOS 0-4 PANETOLIKOS

Still searching for their maiden Super League win, Panetolikos breezed past Ialysos in their first Greek Cup meeting, thrashing their opponents 4-0 on the island of Rhodes.

Swedish defender Rasmus Sjostedt got the ball rolling in the 20th minute as he calmly stroked his effort into the right corner. Towards the end of the first half, Ialysos did have a half chance to equalise, as a free kick from deep glanced the crossbar.

Dalcio Gomes doubled the Panetolikos advantage early in the second half as his attempt was adjudged to have crossed the line at point blank range. Continuing to dominate proceedings, Panetolikos eventually registered their third marker in the 85th minute, with Joan Roman converting an opportunity when clean through. Aymen Tahar made it four two minutes from time.

PLATANIAS 0-1 ASTERAS TRIPOLIS

Visitors Asteras took a firm grip of their Greek Cup fifth round tie with a 1-0 away win at Platanias in Chania.

The only goal of the game was scored in some style. On the left flank, Christos Tasoulis shaped for a powerful shot, whacking the ball high into the near corner with the goalkeeper failing to get across in time. Tasoulis had also scored twice at the weekend in the Super League against Lamia.

Platanias had two glorious chances to equalise in the closing stages, but Asteras held on and are now big favourites to progress.

AIOLIKOS 0-3 LAMIA

Another Super League club took a commanding advantage over lower-league opposition. Flexing their muscles, Lamia had no trouble in defeating Aiolikos, easing to a 3-0 win on the road.

Lazar Romanic broke the deadlock inside 15 minutes as he escaped his marker on the left wing and fired his ensuing shot into the far corner. Tyronne doubled Lamia’s advantage on the stroke of the half-time break with a fantastic individual goal.

Lamia completed their win in the second half as Manolis Saliakas finished neatly with only the goalkeeper to beat.

TRIKALA 3-2 ERGOTELIS

Five goals were shared in a thriller as Trikala gained a slender one-goal advantage against Ergotelis at home.

All of the goals were scored in the second half. Lazaros Eleftheriadis drew first blood with a stunning arrowed shot from distance, before an own goal from Andreas Tsipras got Ergotelis level.

Giannis Iatroudis handed Ergotelis their first lead in the 70th minute with a brilliant attempt.

Nevertheless, Trikala struck back to earn a pulsating 3-2 win, as Diego Pelaez scored a penalty and Tsipras headed in.
