Chance to shine for Kampetsis and Vergos
GREEK SUPERLEAGUE: In what comes as a major setback to a stumbling Panathinaikos as they prepare to travel north to face a notoriously tricky PAS Giannina, star striker Federico Macheda will sit out due to an accumulation of yellow cards (he has received a total of four to date). The Italian forward has brilliantly spearheaded the Greens’ attack this season and he has found a home in Athens at the club.
Panathinaikos Players on the Fringes
GREEK SUPERLEAGUE: Time often passes quickly in football. This means a lot can change in a short space of time, especially in terms of which players are in favour and likewise out of favour at their clubs. It is no different with Panathinaikos in season 2018-19, with a managerial change, a winning start and injuries, all conspiring to leave certain players on the fringes. Some may have a way back, whilst others may never get a chance.
