All eyes were on Peristeri to see if Damir Canadi’s Atromitos could move level on 13 points with SuperLeague leaders AEK Athens, and they managed to do it thanks to Brazilian midfielder Madson’s solitary goal.

The 26-year-old central midfielder struck in the 28th minute to clinch another three-point haul for Atromitos, who are in a rich vein of form after beating reigning champions Olympiacos 1-0 in Piraeus last time out before the international break.

Any hopes Tripolis had of getting back in the game disappeared with the dismissals of Nikos Kaltsas in the 39th minute for two bookable offences, and Walter Iglesias a minute after the hour mark for the same reason.

Despite their numerical disadvantage Tripolis almost pulled level in the 68th minute but Giorgos Kyriakopoulos was denied by the woodwork.

PAS Giannina fight back to beat Platanias

PAS Giannina 3 - 1 Platanias
Conde 12'
Tzimopoulos 32'
Chalkiadakis 39'

Grzelczak 7'

PAS Giannina fell behind early in their match against Platanias in Ioannina but managed to come back to win 3-1 and left themselves up to seventh in the standings.

Platanias’ Polish striker Piotr Grzelczak opened the scoring after seven minutes as the visitors made a great start, but that sparked the home side into action and they dominated the game, winning courtesy of goals from Spanish forward Pedro Conde (12), Themistoklis Tzimopoulos (36) and Bruno Halkiadakis (39).
