Unbeaten PAOK enter new year first at all levels

To this date, it’s virtually been a perfect domestic season for PAOK, with the senior, U19, U17 and U15 teams all leading their respective leagues without losing a single game between them.

Can anyone stop PAOK? The Dikefalos tou Vorra have a realistic possibility of winning all Super Leagues (senior, U19, U17, U15), and, amazingly, none of their teams in any of the championships has lost a match! In the combined 49 games played across the four leagues, PAOK have registered 41 wins, eight draws and zero defeats, a quite outstanding record.

Let’s take a look at the standings in the four separate championships in detail:

SUPER LEAGUE

The coveted Super League trophy is in sight. We’re only halfway through the season, but with 14 rounds in the books, PAOK possess a healthy eight-point lead over Olympiacos. At times, the Dikefalos tou Vorra have struggled to show their best football with European commitments taking their toll, but they’ve impressively won 13 of their opening 14 championship matches. PAOK’s only blip was a gritty 1:1 draw at high flying Atromitos, while their victories include a 2:0 win over AEK in Thessaloniki and a vital 1:0 triumph against Olympiacos at the Karaiskakis Stadium.

PAOK would be ten points ahead of Olympiacos, but because of a overriding punishment from the 2017/2018 campaign, they were docked two points from the table before the season even began.

Current standings:

  1. PAOK, 38 points

  2. Olympiacos, 30 points

  3. Atromitos, 28 points

  4. AEK, 24 points

  5. Panathinaikos, 22 points

U19 SUPER LEAGUE

Incredibly, PAOK have exactly the same record in the under 19 Super League! After 14 rounds, the Thessaloniki team confidently sit in first place of the table with 40 points, having won 13 and drawn one. In the 2017/2018 season, PAOK also won the U19 Super League, and they’re in a good position to defend their crown successfully. Nearest challengers AEK own 33 points, but PAOK have a game in hand over the Athenians. PAOK’s only match which they haven’t won was a 0:0 draw against arch rivals Aris.

Current standings:

  1. PAOK, 40 points

  2. AEK, 33 points

  3. Olympiacos, 29 points

  4. Panathinaikos, 27 points

  5. Atromitos, 27 points

U17 SUPER LEAGUE

For the second consecutive year, PAOK are well on their way to the Final Four of the under 17 Super League, as they threaten to run away with Group B. At the moment, the team sits in first place with 29 points, eight ahead of PAS Giannina. In the previous season, PAOK also played in the Final Four, however they couldn’t win the trophy. Panetolikos, Aris, Xanthi, Lamia and AE Larissa are the remaining teams in Group B.

Current standings:

  1. PAOK, 29 points

  2. PAS Giannina, 21 points

  3. Panetolikos, 21 points

  4. Aris, 20 points

  5. Lamia, 9 points

U15 SUPER LEAGUE

It’s been a similar story for the Thessaloniki organisation in the under 15 Super League. In eight games, PAOK are yet to feel the bitter taste of defeat, claiming seven victories and one draw. PAOK lead Group B with 22 points, with Xanthi in second on 17 and third placed Aris possessing 11 points. Panetolikos and PAS Giannina make up Group B of the competition.

In the 2017/2018 campaign, PAOK reached the U15 Super League final, where they fell to Panathinaikos.

Current standings:

  1. PAOK, 22 points

  2. Xanthi, 17 points

  3. Aris, 11 points

  4. Panetolikos, 4 points

  5. PAS Giannina, 3 points
