The fourth round of the Greek Cup kicked off on Tuesday with three matches while fixtures will take place on Wednesday and Thursday.

Veria, who will compete in the Football League this season, cruised past Levadiakos on Tuesday and sent the Super League 2 side packing from this year’s Greek Cup. After a goalless first half, the hosts opened the scoring in the 54th minute with Simoni’s effort from inside the penalty area finding the back of the net. Penta doubled his side’s lead just seven minutes later, notching home a rebound. The game was put to bed in the 71st minute with Pasas finishing off a great counterattack from the hosts.

Like Veria, the Football League’s Trikala also prevailed against their Super League 2 opponents, Doxa Drama. The game’s only goal came two minutes before the half-time whistle as Papageorgiou’s strike from outside the penalty area beat the goalkeeper. The hosts held on despite playing the final 22 minutes with a man down after Rizogiannis was sent off with a second yellow card.

In the day’s most anticipated match, Panachaiki prevailed on the road against Ionikos with a 1-2 scoreline. Hit-man Moraitis opened the scoring in the 17th minute for the Patra side and Manalis equalized for the hosts five minutes before the half-time break. The visitors pressed on in the second half and got the goal they deserved in the 76th minute, with Kynigopoulos finding the back of the net to send his side through to the next round.
