Wins for Trikala, Ionikos, Vital win for Kavala over Veria
Trikala and Ionikos lead the way in the Football League while Kavala recorded an important victory over Veria on the road on Saturday.

Trikala recorded a 2-0 victory over Triglia to maintain top spot in the Football League standings. The hosts grabbed an early lead as Tsipras opened the scoring in the seventh minute, putting Trikala in full control. Triglia, however, put up a fight and kept the margin at one for the majority of the match until the final minute of play when Milkoudis committed a penalty and was sent off as a result. Rizogiannis converted the spot-kick to give Trikala a 2-0 victory. Trikala maintain a five-point cushion atop the standings while Triglia are second from bottom with 14 points.
A sole goal from Kritikos in the opening minute of play was enough for Ionikos to came away 1-0 winners over bottom of the table Kalamata. Ionikos sit in second place, five points behind leaders Trikala, while Kalamata round up the standings with just 12 points from 17 games.
Kavala recorded a vital victory in their fight for promotion as they took down Veria 0-2 on the road. After a goalless first half, Gavriilidis opened the scoring on the hour mark to put the visitors ahead and Orfanidis, from the penalty spot, sealed the three points in the third minute of second-half stoppage time. Tairis committed the penalty and was sent off with a second yellow card for his offense. Kavala’s win puts them just one point behind third-placed Veria.
Niki Volou sit tied on points with Kavala after their 2-0 victory over Ialysos on Sunday. Batallini (34, 43) scored both markers in the first half to give the hosts a comfortable win.
In other action, Olympiacos Volou were handed a shock 4-1 defeat on the road to Thesprotos while Aspropyrgos recorded an important 0-2 win on the road over Egaleo. Diagoras and Ierapetra played to a goalless draw in Rhodos.
