Lescott’s Short Stay in Greece Comes to an End

-- Lescott’s Short Stay in Greece Comes to an End --

It is official, Joleon Lescott and AEK have parted ways. The club announced on Thursday that the two sides came to an agreement to terminate the Englishman’s contract.

Joleon Lescott's 3-month stay in Greece for AEK has come to an end. His release comes after an apparent disagreement over injury recovery conditions at the club. Lescott’s representative met with officials at AEK yesterday to straighten out the situation, however things escalated and the meeting ended in a heated disagreement. Lescott asked to meet with AEK’s owner, Dimitris Melissanidis, but his request was denied.

Today, the club announced the termination of Lescott’s 2-year contract with the player set to receive no more than a €50,000 settlement. The 36-year old defender joined AEK over the summer, managing only 4 appearances for the club in 3-months. In their announcement, AEK wished Lescott the best in his career.
