TODAY'S COMPETING GREEK ATHLETES
Water Polo - Men's Tournament, Group Stage, Game 2 (8:00 AM): Serbia - Greece
***The Greek National Water Polo Team will face the World Champions Serbia in the second match of Group A. Greece defeated Japan 8-7 in matchday 1 while Serbia played to a 13-13 draw against Hungary.
Fencing - Women's Sabre, Round of 32 (9:42 AM): Vassiliki Vougiouka
***Vassiliki Vougiouka will face off against American Dagmara Wozniak in the Round of 32 in the Women's Sabre. Vougiouka had a bye in the Round of 64 and will look to progress to the Last 16 of the event.
Fencing - Women's Sabre, Round of 16 (11:00 AM): ***Vassiliki Vougiouka***
***If Vassiliki Vougiouka defeats American Dagmara Wozniak in the Round of 32 she will advance to the round of 16 to face the winner of Yana Egorian (RUS) and Tania Arayales (MEX).
Fencing - Women's Sabre, Quarter-Finals (11:40 AM): ***Vassiliki Vougiouka***
***If Vassiliki Vougiouka advances from the Round of 16 she will compete in the Quarterfinals of the Event.
Rowing – Men’s Coxless Four, Heat 3 (12:20 PM): Angelopoulos, Christou, Tsilis & Tziallas
***The Men's Coxless four team will compete in the 3rd Qualifying Heat with the hopes of a top 3 finish, out of four teams, for a place in the semi-finals. If Greece finishes in fourth, they will be given one more opportunity in the repechage heat.
Swimming – Men’s 200m Butterfly, Heat 3 (12:44 PM): Stefanos Dimitriadis
***Stefanos Dimitriadis will look to qualify for the semi-finals of the event with a top 16 finish in the heats. He will compete in Heat 3 along with Michael Phelps from the USA.
Fencing - Women's Sabre, Semi-Finals (3:30 PM): ***Vassiliki Vougiouka***
***If Vassiliki Vougiouka advances from the Quarter-Finals she will compete in the Semi-finals of the Event.
Fencing - Women's Sabre, FINAL/3rd Place (4:15/4:45 PM): ***Vassiliki Vougiouka***
***If Vassiliki Vougiouka is defeated in the semi-finals she will play in the 3rd place match. If she wins her Semi-final match she will compete for the Gold medal in the Final!
Swimming – Men’s 200m Butterfly, Semi-Finals (10:10 PM): ***Stefanos Dimitriadis***
***If Stefanos Dimitriadis finishes in the Top 16 from the heats he will compete in the Semi-finals of the Event. Eight of the 16 athletes in the semi-finals will qualify for the event's Final Round.
*Please note that Heats are considered qualifying rounds while FINAL rounds are the “medal” rounds.
