Preparations for next season are already in full swing. On Wednesday, the full regular season calendar for the 2020/2021 EuroLeague campaign was announced by the organisation, with the action set to begin on October 1. On matchday one, Olympiacos will welcome Zalgiris Kaunas to the Peace and Friendship Stadium, while Panathinaikos will make the trip to Russia to face Khimki.

One of the most anticipated games of the entire season will take place in the second round. The return game between the two sides will be played on February 5 in Piraeus.

The regular season will end in early April with Panathinaikos playing against Zalgiris in Lithuania and Olympiacos competing with Khimki at home.

Initially, Panathinaikos had vowed to leave the EuroLeague in favour of the FIBA-run Basketball Champions League, but the Athenians weren’t willing to pay the clause of 10 million euros which would enable them to break their contract. Panathinaikos’ deal with the EuroLeague is due to run until 2026.
