KOLOSSOS RODOU 70-79 AEK

Midweek, AEK contrived to concede a disappointing defeat to Antwerp in the Basketball Champions League, but Ilias Papatheodorou’s troops continued their excellent domestic form with a nine-point victory against struggling Kolossos Rodou.

The Kitrinomavri, boasting an 11-4 record, won three of the four quarters.

Keith Langford, who is continuing to take a leading role for AEK, tallied 20 points, three assists and three rebounds in Rhodes.

AEK had lost the services of Howard Sant-Roos on Friday.

LARISA 95-85 PAOK

Last week, it seemed that a rejuvenated PAOK had got into their groove as they defeated bitter rivals Aris, but the Dikefalos tou Vorra came unstuck at Larissa.

PAOK remain in the relegation zone of the Basket League.

Larissa, now on an impressive three-game winning streak in the league, tore apart PAOK’s defence to come close to 100 points. The hosts scored a minimum of 21 points in each quarter

Antony Hickey stood out for Larissa with a large 26 points.

ARIS 69-63 IRAKLIS

In another Thessaloniki derby, Aris edged past Iraklis at home in a defensive affair, outscoring their opponents by six points to gain their first win in three matches. However, despite this triumph, Aris do remain bottom of the Basket League standings with just four wins in 11 games.

Iraklis are eighth with a 6-9 record.

Lefteris Bochoridis was the leading Aris scorer with 16 points, five rebounds and the one assist.

Ken Brown scored 15 points for the home team.

PERISTERI 71-61 RETHYMNO CRETAN KINGS

In rather indifferent form, Peristeri picked up a well-needed victory at home on Saturday afternoon, seeing off the challenge of the Rethymno Cretan Kings by 10 points.

Peristeri had suffered a heavy defeat to Tenerife in the Basketball Champions League on Wednesday.

The first quarter was key as Peristeri outscored Rethymno 19-10.

Steven Gray was the only Peristeri player to reach double figures in points (20).

Peristeri remain in third position of the standings with 10 victories and five losses. Rethymno are in 11th

IFAISTOS LIMNOU 79-74 PANIONIOS

On matchday 14, Ifaistos Limnou were beaten by Rethymno in Crete, but they proved too strong for Panionios this time around by sneaking a five-point triumph.

Panionios have conceded three defeats in their most recent four Basket League matches.

With 15 rounds in the books, Ifaistos Limnou are sitting pretty in fifth position as their playoff charge continues, while Panionios are ninth.

Sean Evans achieved a double-double for Ifaistos Limnou with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
