Apollon Smyrni netted two first-half goals to defeat Kerkyra 0-2 in Monday’s Super League 2 action.

Apollon Smyrni restored their lead atop the Super League 2 table by defeating Kerkyra 0-2 on the road in the final fixture of matchday seven. The visitors, who dominated the 90 minutes of play, got on the board in the 16th minute with Bendineli converting a spot kick. Apollon Smyrni secured the three points before the end of the first half as Bendineli turned provider for Karagounis, who made no mistake to double the Smyrniotes’ lead in the 42nd minute.
Apollon Smyrnis did not let up the pressure in the second half and came close on multiple occasions to adding a third goal, but their chances went begging. The league leaders, however, had finished the job in the first half and moved up to 17 points, two points clear of second placed PAS Giannina.
Kerkyra, on the other hand, sit bottom of the table with -3 points along with Apollon Pontou.
