Calathes reaches 1,200 assists plateau
Nick Calathes has joined some elite company in the Basket League record books after becoming just the fourth player in league history to reach the 1,200 assists mark.

Although Calathes’ participation in Panathinaikos landslide 68-110 defeat of Larissa was limited, the Greek international still made enough of a mark on the game to rise in the Basket League record books.
Featuring for just under 11 minutes of game time, Calathes made the most of his minutes restriction as he poured in seven assists to reach 1,200 in his Basket League career.
Having passed Nikos Vetoulas for fourth last season, Calathes now sits just nine assists shy of Vassilis Xanthopoulos’ mark of 1,209 assists though that is a bit of a moving target for Calathes as Xanthopoulos continues to ply his trade for Peristeri.
Calathes still has a long way to go catch Dimitris Diamanatidis’ mark of 2,141 assists, while former teammate and Olympiacos point guard Vassilis Spanoulis leads the way with a record 2,167 all-time assists.
