The bad luck continues for Christodoulopoulos. Last February, the 33-year-old winger suffered the dreaded anterior cruciate ligament injury for Olympiacos in a Super League match against AEK, and there is now a possibility that he will miss the entirety of the playoffs after rupturing a ligament in Friday’s training session.

Medical tests showed that Christodoulopoulos ruptured a ligament in his right knee. The recovery process is expected to last six weeks.

Consequently, if the 2019/2020 Super League campaign ends on July 19 as planned, the Olympiacos attacker is unlikely to make an appearance in the playoffs. Olympiacos boast a healthy 14-point lead over PAOK in first position of the standings.

During the current season, Christodoulopoulos has struggled to make an impression for Pedro Martins’ troops, only participating in seven competitions across all competitions. The 2017/2018 Greek champion is widely tipped to leave Olympiacos when his contract expires at the end of the season.
