Ionikos return to Basket League after 32-year absence
Ionikos Nikaias clinched promotion to the A1 Basket League after defeating Psychiko on Wednesday.

Ionikos Nikaias will be returning to the A1 Basket League for the first time in 32 years after clinching promotion from the second division. The Nikaia based club defeated Psychiko 73:86 on the road in Wednesday’s A2 Basket League action and mathematically secured the A2 crown (along with promotion).
Ionikos have recorded an impressive 25 wins from 28 games this season. Most recently, they broke a number of records over the weekend by defeating Ethnikos by a whopping 197:116 scoreline.
The second and final promotion spot will be decided by the promotion playoffs which will take place at the conclusion of the regular season.
