This following statement was released by Lamia on Thursday:

“FC PAS Lamia 1964 announces the beginning of its collaboration with 32-year-old coach Giorgos Petrakis, who coached AE Karaiskakis in the Super League 2 this season. We welcome him and wish him every success with our team!”

Apostolos Papanikolaou will work as the assistant coach while Giannis Zalaoras has received the role of the goalkeeping coach.

Lamia officially ended Mantzios’ stint as coach after conceding a lacklustre 1-0 home defeat to Panionios in the Super League playouts on Monday. At the moment, Lamia occupy fourth place of the relegation playouts, possessing 31 points after 29 matches.

Petrakis joins Lamia from Karaiskakis. In January, Petrakis was hired by Karaiskakis, subsequently registering a points per game average of 1.25 in eight Super League 2 matches. He has also previously coached AO Tympakiou, Irodotos, Ermis Zonianon and FC Chania.
