Misic was loaned out by Sporting Lisbon to PAOK on a 1.5-year deal midway through last season. The Croatian midfielder has been PAOK’s most consistent performer this season and looks set to earn himself a new, three-year contract with the Dikefalos tou Vora. The deal will take effect at the start of the new season and will keep him in Thessaloniki until the summer of 2023. Misic’s loan move to PAOK came with an option to buy for two million euros with PAOK set to trigger the buyout clause, according to reports from Portugal.

Reports indicate that discussions between PAOK and Sporting Lisbon have been positive, and a deal could be made official this week. Ivan Savvidis’ son, George Savvidis, revealed on social media this week that their Christmas present had arrived with an image of Misic and Ivan Savvids together, hinting that the creative midfielder will remain in the black and white permanently.

The 25-year-old is experiencing a career-best season in the heart of PAOK’s midfield. Misic has provided a calm head in the middle of the pitch, as well as using his experience to step up and lead PAOK to victories in their hunt for back-to-back championships.

Misic has made a total of 18 appearances in the Greek Super League this season, scoring five goals and providing six assists.
