On Tuesday, Panathinaikos released this following statement:

“Panathinaikos FC announces the signing of Dominik Nagy in the form of a loan from Legia Warsaw. The loan deal will last for six months.”

Reports in the media have suggested that Panathinaikos will be able to sign Nagy in the summer if they decide to activate his release clause of 1.5 million euros.

Nagy, a 24-year-old Hungarian winger under contract at Legia in Poland, has played in 19 matches across all tournaments in the 2019/2020 campaign, popping up with one goal and one assists in the Ekstraklasa.

“Panathinaikos represents a good opportunity for me to play in a league with a different style, revealed Nagy after he joined the Athenian club. “Everyone knows Panathinaikos, this club has great history. We Hungarians know Panathinaikos because Ferenc Puskas coached here. Before I signed, I spoke to Joao Nunes, who I know from playing in Poland together, and also some other Hungarian players. Everyone only had good things to say about Panathinaikos. I like to take players on in individual duels, showcasing my skills and speed.”

In other news, goalkeeper Sokratis Dioudis has allegedly agreed to extend his Panathinaikos contract through to 2023, with the club expected to formally announce the extension in the coming days. Dioudis, 26, has conceded 19 Super League goals in the 2019/2020 season, gaining seven clean sheets along the way.
