Olympiacos defeated AEK and PAOK beat Panathinaikos in a derby-filled day in the A1 Volley League.

Olympiacos found themselves down 19-21 to visitors AEK in the first set, however, they were able to turn it around and edge the Kitrinomavri to take it 25-23. The Erythrolefki also trailed in the second set, by a score of 6-9. Once again, they were able to come back and cut the deficit to 12-13, only to later trail 15-19. Olympiacos would then win 10 of the next 12 points to take the set 25-21. In the third set, AEK once again jumped out to an early lead. The Kitrinomavri went up 13-15 but could not hold on, as Olympiacos came from behind again to take it 25-22 and win the match 3-0.
In the day’s other derby, PAOK hosted Panathinaikos. PAOK won a tight first set 25-23. They then dominated the second set, winning it 25-15. In the third set, PAOK went up 5-1 and it seemed that they would cruise to an easy victory. Despite a comeback from Panathinaikos to level it at 6-6, PAOK would again go up 12-9 and 16-14. Panathinaikos would reduce the deficit to 21-20, but the hosts would ultimately hold on for a 25-22 win to take the match by an overall score of 3-0.
Olympiacos now sit in first place in the A1 Volley League with a 5-0 overall record. PAOK are in second place with a 4-1 record. AEK and Panathinaikos are both currently mid-table, with record of 2-2 and 2-3 respectively.
