Olympiacos finished the Super League regular season with an unbeaten record of 20 wins and six draws from 26 matches to claim top spot heading into the Playoffs. The Reds capped off an incredible regular season with a 2-0 win over Panetolikos at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium.

Olympiacos’ 26-game unbeaten run this season along with a ten-game unbeaten run to end last year’s Super League campaign sees the Erythrolefki unbeaten in 36 league fixtures.

Olympiacos’ unbeaten run is now the longest in Europe in domestic league play. This comes after Liverpool’s shock 3-0 loss to Watford on 29 February in the English Premier League.

The last time Olympiacos lost in the Super League was over a year ago on 10 February 2019 to rivals PAOK with a disappointing 3-0 scoreline.

Behind Olympiacos in the longest unbeaten streak in Europe are Maccabi Tel-Aviv (Israel) with 29 games, Ludogorets (Bulgaria) with 28 games, and Europa FC (Gibraltar) with 18 games. All three teams, along with Olympiacos, are the only teams in Europe that have not tasted defeat this season in their respective leagues.

A key to Olympiacos’ success this season is their stubborn defense. The Reds have only conceded nine goals in the 26-game regular season, six of which were conceded at the Karaiskakis Stadium and three on the road.

Olympiacos, who hold a 14-point lead atop the Super League standings, are scheduled to play PAOK in the first matchday of the Playoffs. However, the season has been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic with the hope that it will resume again in May
