Sloukas allegedly tests positive for coronavirus 

Fenerbahce star Kostas Sloukas has allegedly tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the latest reports.

On Saturday, Fenerbahce confirmed that they were going to test their players and staff for the coronavirus, with several members of the team having displayed symptoms of the illness which is continuing to cause devastation across the globe:

Later in the day, a large number of reports in the media suggested that Kostas Sloukas, Jan Vesely, Ahmet Duverioglu and team manager Cenk Renda have all tested positive for the coronavirus. It must be noted that this has not been confirmed by Fenerbahce.

Sloukas has been on Fenerbahce’s books since 2015 when he transferred from Olympiacos. In the 2019/2020 EuroLeague regular season, the Greek guard participated in 25 matches for the Turkish giants, averaging 11.6 points, 6.1 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game. The 30-year-old has not made any comment yet on the development.

The coronavirus, which affects the respiratory system, has killed thousands in the world. Turkey only reported their first case on March 11th before subsequently suspending all sporting competitions on Thursday.

Fenerbahce occupy eighth place of the EuroLeague standings with a 13-15 record.
