This following statement was released by Olympiacos:

“Olympiacos FC announces that an agreement has been made with SC Braga to sign Ahmed Hassan.

“The Egyptian striker has signed his contract with Olympiacos which lasts three years.”

Hassan had been on loan at Olympiacos from Braga for the second time during the second half of the 2019/2020 campaign. After moving to Piraeus again, Hassan impressed with his scoring ability, grabbing four goals in the Super League playoffs as Olympiacos cruised to the title.

The tall 27-year-old forward had been on Braga’s books since 2015. His first spell on loan at Olympiacos had been witnessed in the 2018/2019 season.

In other news, Portuguese defender Ruben Semedo will miss the upcoming Greek Cup final against AEK on August 30, with the 26-year-old having tested positive for the COVID-19 infection. Semedo has consistently been a key figure in the centre of the Olympiacos defence after moving to the Thrylos last year.
