Panathinaikos confirm Kourbelis contract extension
Dimitris Kourbelis has extended his Panathinaikos contract through to 2023, the club have confirmed.

On Wednesday, Panathinaikos released this following statement:
“Panathinaikos FC announces the extension of its contract with Dimitris Kourbelis. The captain of our team signed a new deal which runs until 2023.”
Kourbelis, 26, has been a Panathinaikos player since January 2017 when he arrived from Asteras Tripolis. Initially, his contract with Panathinaikos was due to expire in December 2020, but he was always keen on remaining at the Athenian club.
Although Kourbelis generally plays as a defensive midfielder, he is also capable of playing in the centre of defence. Kourbelis is well-loved among the Panathinaikos supporters for his leadership qualities and raw passion shown on the field.
In the current campaign, Kourbelis has made 12 appearances across all competitions, scoring the one goal in the Greek Cup. In the past, Kourbelis has regularly been linked with a move abroad.
Transfermarkt rates his value at two million.
