ANWIL WŁOCŁAWEK 77-79 AEK (GROUP B)

AEK are back to winning ways in Europe. Last week, the Kitrinomavri contrived to concede a disappointing home loss in the Basketball Champions League, but they recovered to defeat Anwil Wloclawek by two points in Poland on Wednesday evening.

Initially, AEK lost the first quarter 22-18, however they won the next two by a combined total of six points. AEK subsequently survived a nervy ending to the game to tally their fifth win in seven matches.

Both Keith Langford and Jonas Maciulis scored 16 points for AEK.

AEK will play EB Pau-Lacq-Orthez on the road next week, while Anwil welcome RASTA Vechta to their home arena.

TELEKOM BASKETS BONN 83-85 PAOK (GROUP D)

PAOK are firmly in the playoff hunt. Displaying character, PAOK outlasted Bonn away from home, scoring the winning basket in the concluding seconds to earn a thrilling 85-83 victory.

Vangelis Margaritis equalised at 81-81 with an accurate attempt from behind the arc. With time running out, the same player then drained a floater to snatch a vital win for the Dikefalos tou Vorra in Germany.

PAOK have claimed three consecutive wins in the competition after starting with four successive defeats.

PERISTERI 75-65 ERA NYMBURK (GROUP C)

On matchday six, Peristeri did come up short against Bamberg in Germany, but the Greeks came roaring back to comfortably beat Nymburk 75-65 in the Athens suburb on Tuesday. This is only Nymburk’s second defeat in the Basketball Champions League this season.

The first quarter proved to be decisive as Peristeri clinched it 25-15.

Yanick Moreira took a leading role for Peristeri by achieving a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Steven Gray (19 points) and William Hatcher (13 points) also reached double figures.

Peristeri will play against Gaziantep at home next week. Nymburk, for their part, will make the trip to Bamberg.
