Panathinaikos Finally Break PAOK Hoodoo
Panathinaikos put an end to PAOK hoodoo after notching their first goal and point after two and a half years.

Panathinaikos have always held the head-to-head record against northern rivals PAOK, with 87 wins to date, compared to PAOK’s 55. Last Sunday’s pulsating 2-2 draw at Toumba was the 36th draw between the two sides. However, the Thessaloniki-based outfit have emerged as nightmare opponents for Panathinaikos in recent years.
Ever since Guillermo Molins scored a late winner at Toumba in May 2017 at Toumba to give the Greens a dramatic 2-3 away win over PAOK - and bump the hosts out of a UEFA Champions League qualifying spot - Panathinaikos have severely struggled against PAOK . It has been that long ago that Viktor Klonaridis and Robin Lod were the other goal scorers.
Since that 2016-17 season, the two sides have gone in totally different directions and before last weekend’s 2-2 draw, PAOK had won all four previous fixtures with an aggregate score of 11-0.
Panathinaikos went two and a half years without scoring against PAOK, let alone taking a point but latest fixture has put an end to PAOK’s impressive run.
