The Peristeri club struggled to create clear scoring chances against a home side who had a handful of half-chances to get on the scoresheet themselves, so a draw would have been a fair outcome in this low-key Matchday 19 clash.

But the 31-year-old Manousos, who returned to the side after a lengthy spell out injured since December 1, scored with a superb left-footed shot which left Larissa goalkeeper Ögmundur Kristinsson no chance in the 89th minute.

Atromitos’ 14-goal SuperLeague top scorer Efthymis Koulouris passed up a chance to add to his tally for the visitors just a few minutes before Manousos’ matchwinner, when his side-footed effort was scuffed wide when he really should have done better.

The result means that Atromitos finally managed to take three points for the first time since beating Aris 4-2 on Matchday 13 last December.

Although the Peristeri cub have dropped out of contention in the title race, which is being lead by PAOK, Olympiacos and AEK Athens, they remain in fourth place with 33 points, while Larissa stay unmoved in 11th.

Garcia strike clinches it for Aris

Aris 1 - 0 PAS Giannina
Garcia 76'

In Thessaloniki Aris claimed all three points against PAS Giannina courtesy of Matias Garcia’s second-half goal.

The Argentine forward struck in the 76th minute to seal a hard-earned win for the home side, who won for the second successive match and moved up to fifth in the table above Panathinaikos.

PAS remain one place and four points above the relegation zone and will be anxiously looking over their shoulder in the coming weeks as the battle to avoid the drop starts to heat up.
