Panionios sack Mantzios
After suffering two losses to start the Super League season, Panionios have decided to sack coach Akis Mantzios.

Panionios are in search of a new coach after the club decided to sack coach Akis Mantzios on Monday. The Nea Smyrni club have started the Super League season with two losses from two games against new boys Volos and defending champions PAOK.
Mantzios met with club officials on Monday where he was informed of the club’s decision and shortly after, Panionios released an official statement thanking him for his services. The 49-year-old manager took over the Kyanerythri last December and helped the club to a sixth-placed finish with 38 points. This season, the club sits bottom of the table with -6 points as they failed to acquire a license to participate in the league and were forced to start the season with negative six points.
The front runner to replace Mantzios is former Ergotelis boss Niki Papavasiliou. The manager is expected to be announced as the club's new coach in the coming days.
