Over the weekend, initial reports in Greece suggested that the deal could be off, but it has now been confirmed by both English and Greek media outlets than Podence, 24, will arrive in England tomorrow to undergo his medical tests with Wolves, with Olympiacos having agreed to sell the Portuguese attacker for around 25 million euros. The two clubs have now reached a deal after negotiations did prove tricky at one stage.

On Sunday, Podence was included in the Olympiacos squad to face AEK in the Super League, but he was left out of the team. The battle at the Olympic Stadium in Athens ended in a 0-0 draw.

An announcement is expected to be made once Podence passes his medical in Wolverhampton.

In the current campaign, the diminutive winger made 27 appearances across all competitions for Olympiacos, contributing with five goals and five assists. Podence offered plenty of energy, creativity and flair with his superb attacking play in Piraeus since joining Olympiacos from Sporting in somewhat controversial circumstances in the summer of 2018.

KOUTRIS, BENZIA CLOSE TO EXITS

Talented left-back Leonardo Koutris, who has been out of favour at Olympiacos this season, is reportedly close to joining Mallorca, with the Spanish club eager to get the deal over the line as soon as possible.

Koutris, 24, is predicted to join Mallorca on a six-month loan for the remainder of the 2019/2020 campaign, but it is not certain whether the Spaniards will have the option to purchase the Greek international on a permanent basis in the summer. Koutris has only played in nine games for Olympiacos this season, dishing out four assists.

Yassine Benzia is also likely to leave.

In the off-season, Benzia transferred to Olympiacos on loan from Lille, but the Algerian has failed to make any kind of impact in Piraeus. Overall, the 25-year-old attacking midfielder only competed in nine games for the Erythrolefki, not tallying any goals or assists along the way. He was sent off in the 3-1 UEFA Champions League loss to Red Star in Belgrade.

Dijon are on the brink of signing Benzia.

MARTINS EAGER TO SIGN HASSAN

Olympiacos boss, Pedro Martins, is still hopeful of signing Ahmed Hassan on loan from Braga. Last season, Ahmed Hassan impressed at Olympiacos as a loanee, scoring 11 goals in the Super League. Nevertheless, in the current campaign, he has barely featured for Braga in Portugal.

Martins has supposedly insisted that Olympiacos sign Hassan this week. Reports had stated that Hassan is in Greece as he awaits the outcome of conversations between Braga and Olympiacos.
