It took some effort for AEK to see off a dogged Atromitos side. After falling a goal down in the first half, AEK recovered in the second with an own goal from Christos Mandas and Nelson Oliveira’s fortunate marker, but Athanasios Androutsos equalised for Atromitos in the closing stages. Nevertheless, in the third minute of stoppage time, Oliveira prodded in from point blank range to give AEK three vital points. The Enosi - in third place of the standings - are now only six points behind Olympiacos.

Atromitos are down in eighth.

Olympiacos, who had beaten AEK in Piraeus last week, were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Xanthi on the road. As a result, PAOK had the opportunity to go joint top of the Super League on Sunday evening, but they could only play to a pulsating 2-2 draw against Panathinaikos at the Toumba Stadium. Until the dying moments of injury time, the Dikefalos tou Vorra were heading for a surprise defeat, but captain Vieirinha converted a last-gasp penalty to salvage an important point. The Portuguese full-back had previously cancelled out a goal from Ghayas Zahid before Federico Macheda gave Panathinaikos the lead again.

PAOK continue trailing Olympiacos by two points. Panathinaikos languish in 10th spot with nine points on the board.

AE Larissa are on a roll. Following their impressive win at Panathinaikos, AEL continued their excellent league form on Sunday, launching a dramatic comeback to recover from a two-goal deficit and emerge victorious against OFI by a score of 3-2. AEL - unbeaten in six consecutive league games - now occupy sixth position with 15 points from nine matches. OFI move down to fourth behind AEK.

Lamia were without a win in the Super League this season until Monday, but they corrected that statistic with a 1-0 victory over Volos NFC. Panetolikos were held to a 1-1 draw against Asteras Tripolis while rock-bottom Panionios - reduced to 10 men - played to a tie with Aris in Nea Smyrni.

Player of the Week: Nelson Oliveira (AEK)

Oliveira is gradually fitting into the AEK system. The 28-year-old had a large hand in the equalising goal against Atromitos at the Olympic Stadium, as his shot hit the post and subsequently rolled into the net after it struck Mandas’ back. Not long later, the Portuguese forward took advantage of a goalkeeping error to score his second, before he then won the game for AEK in the 93rd minute. A memorable evening.

Goal of the Week: Lisandro Semedo (OFI)

Semedo, 23, has started the campaign in fantastic fashion for OFI with five goals in nine games. The Portuguese striker opened the scoring in Larissa with a superb effort in the third minute, wonderfully hooking a lob over the stranded AEL goalkeeper. A contender for goal of the season.
