In Thessaloniki, league leaders PAOK failed to win the second Derby of Macedonia of the Super League campaign, as the Dikefalos tou Vorra conceded a late equaliser against Aris to draw 1:1. PAOK captain Vieirinha opened the scoring in the first half with a superb strike, but with five minutes remaining, Fran Velez notched a point for Aris with a firm header. Aris extended their advantage in fifth position over Panathinaikos to three points after the Greens dropped a lacklustre 0:2 defeat to Panionios on the road. As a result of their win, Panionios have moved clear of the drop zone, sitting in 10th place and six points clear of PAS Giannina who lost 0:1 at seventh placed Panetolikos.

On Monday, Olympiacos thrashed OFI 5:1 at the Karaiskakis Stadium, as an Ahmed Hassan hat trick, alongside further goals from Giorgos Masouras and Konstantinos Fortounis, made sure the Thrylos cut PAOK’s advantage at the top of the table to seven points. In stark contrast, OFI fell to 15th place, with the Cretan club’s relegation fears becoming ever more realistic. In-form Levadiakos beat Xanthi 1:0 on the road to tally their second successive win and move up to 14th spot. Xanthi were overtaken by Panetolikos into seventh as their European hopes fade.

AEK were given a stern test by rock bottom club Apollon Smyrnis on Saturday, but thanks to Lucas Boye scoring twice, the reigning champions tallied a 2:1 win. In more good news for AEK, Atromitos dropped points in a 1:1 draw away to Asteras Tripolis, which means the Kitrinomavri are now three points above the Peristeri outfit in third position. Asteras are in 11th with the relegation places dangerously close.

Lamia occupy ninth place after beating struggling AEL 2:1 at home. The latter are now in 12th.
