Stefanos stopped in semifinals
World number three Roger Federer of Switzerland defeats Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4 6-4 to reach the final of his home tournament in Basel.

Coming into the match, Federer and Tsitsipas had split their previous two meetings, although the Swiss had also beaten Tsitsipas in this year’s Hopman Cup (not counted towards the official head-to-head record).
Today, Federer was able to secure one break in each set, defeating the 21-year-old Greek 6-4 6-4. Tsitsipas only held one break point in the match, which was when Federer was serving for the match at 6-4 5-4. However, Federer saved that break point and then won the following two points to take the match in straight sets. Federer will now face Australian wildcard Alex de Minaur in Sunday’s final, where the Swiss will be looking to win his hometown event for the tenth time in his career.
