A double from talismanic Slovakian striker Erik Jendrišek and a further goal from Aleksandar Kovacevic sealed maximum points for the first time in four matches for the home side, who move up to seventh spot with five points as a result.
OFI, who have struggled on their return to the top flight so far, were short on quality up front and it only seemed a matter of time before their overworked defence would crumble.
Jendrišek got the ball rolling with his first strike after 28 minutes, and then the 31-year-old doubled the advantage five minutes before half-time.
OFI failed to register a serious threat on the Xanthi goal and Kovacevic put the icing on the cake for Milan Rastavac’s dominant Xanthi team three minutes from full-time.
