A Look At Our Boxing Day Match Predictions

With Premier League football taking a break for a long 6 weeks to accommodate the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, football fans will be counting down the days to Boxing Day, as the league resumes. With seven games to watch, to help us recover from the festive excitement, many of us will be looking forward to returning to our football betting to make each game more engaging. And with a huge range of games to choose from, how can you possibly predict the outcome of each? We’ve got you covered – read on for a few of our favourite Boxing Day match picks, and a few factors to look out for in each!

Leicester Vs Newcastle

The Foxes are playing at home this Boxing Day, going head-to-head with Newcastle, who went into the World Cup break sitting third in the Premier League table. Fans of the North-East side will be expecting big things from them as they continue to climb the table with the help of the likes of Paraguayan Miguel Almiron – who’s had one of the best seasons when it comes to goals and the Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimarães who will be coming in fresh from the World Cup drama. Whilst Leicester are currently in thirteenth place with more losses than they have wins this season, you might think that it’s an easy one to call – but anything can happen, as we’ve seen so far in 2022, and with the likes of James Maddison and Harvey Barnes both at their best – they could still be in with a chance.

Brentford Vs Tottenham

Tottenham head to the Gtech community stadium on the 26th to face Brentford – and there are a few factors that we’ll need to weigh up when it comes to predicting how this match will pan out! The first is that Tottenham has had a lot of its crucial players at the World Cup, like Harry Kane, Richarlison, Son, and even goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has been in on the action. Tottenham could risk looking and feeling fatigued after such an intense few weeks in Qatar. However, there is also the matter of whether Ivan Toney can help Brentford. One of their strongest, most notable players this season has recently been reprimanded for dabbling in a bit of sports betting of his own – the club has not yet commented on the repercussions of this, but it could spell further issues for Brentford and give Tottenham the upper hand.

Arsenal Vs West Ham

If we’re basing our predictions on the first half of the season, it goes without saying that Arsenal would be tipped to beat West Ham when they play at the Emirates on Boxing Day, however it may not be as simple as that. The World Cup saw Jesus out needing knee surgery, so there may be a change in dynamic that we’ve not experienced yet with Arsenal, and he’ll be a huge miss to the team. West Ham have not been playing their best so far, with nine losses in fifteen games, but with Jarden Bowen and Scamacca both missing out on the World Cup this year, could they be out for retribution?

Aston Villa Vs Liverpool

Liverpool heads to Villa Park on Boxing Day to face Aston Villa. Again, another smaller team against one of the best in the League, but before deciding which you think will come out on top, there are a few factors to consider. Villa is coming in off the back of a break, where it’s possible new manager Unai Emery may have given the team a boost regarding how they play – something to look out for when the season restarts. Liverpool has a few players coming in off the World Cup, most notably the Brazilian cohort, Alisson, and Fabinho, as well as Nunez and Jordan Henderson. The squad may look a little more fatigued than Emery’s side, which could make for an intriguing match – but it’s essential to remember Mo Salah, Diogo Jota, and Roberto Firmino will all be well rested…
