GREECE RIO 2016 OLYMPICS: The Greek National Water Polo team finished in 6th place at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games after falling to Hungary 12-10 in today’s 5th place match. Serbia won the gold medal (Croatia silver) while Italy defeated Montenegro in the bronze medal match.

GREECE RIO 2016 OLYMPICS: Panagiotis Kagialias and Pavlos Mantis have won Greece's 5th medal at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The Greek duo finished today's medal race of the Men's 470 Sailing event in 10th place (3rd overall), one position behind Australia, to earn Greece's 2nd BRONZE medal at the Rio games.

GREECE RIO 2016 OLYMPICS: What an ending in the Men's 10km Open Water Swimming event! Spyros Gianniotis lost the gold medal by a fingertip and earned the silver medal in the competition. GREECE RIO 2016 OLYMPICS: The Greek National Water Polo team was handed their first defeat at the Rio 2016 Olympics after a poor showing against Australia. The Aussies came away with a rather easy 12-7 victory and kept their hopes alive to advance to the quarterfinals. Greece will not finish atop of Group A and will await the results from the other group matches later today.

GREECE RIO 2016 OLYMPICS: Greece danced “Samba” around Brazil..The National Water Polo team defeated Brazil 9-4 in the first place clash of Group A. The Greek team dominated the hosts and clinched a spot in the Quarter-finals of the competition. Australia will be Greece’s final opponent in Group A and a Greek win will give them first place in the group.

GREECE RIO 2016 OLYMPICS: Greece had two representatives in today’s final rounds of the Rowing competitions. Asoumanaki and Nikolaidou were one spot away from the bronze medal (finished 4th) in the Women’s Double Sculls while the surprise Greek team of the Men’s Lightweight Four finished 6th in the competition. Despite not earning a medal in either event, both teams made it to the final round of each race concluding a successful Olympic Games for the Greek rowing teams.
An Unfortunate End for the LEGEND Iliadis
GREECE RIO 2016 OLYMPICS: Ilias Iliadis, one of Greece's hopes for a medal, made a very early exist in the Men’s 90kg Judo event. The former Olympic Champion lost by Ippon and was defeated in the Round of 32 by Cheng Xunzhao from China. After his exit from the competition, Iliadis announced that Rio 2016 were his final Olympic Games.
