Pavlidis helps Willem II get back to winning ways
Vangelis Pavlidis contributed with a goal and assist as Willem II gained an important 3-1 victory against Groningen on Friday evening.

In the 40th minute of play, Pavlidis cleverly collected a pass towards the penalty area, subsequently twisting to a shooting position and whipping the ball beyond the goalkeeper to double Willem II’s advantage. Midway through the second half, the 21-year-old forward then contributed with an assist for his team’s third, as his low feed across the box was tapped home by Mats Kohlert.
Willem II emerged victorious 3-1 to get back to winning ways after three successive matches without a victory. The club sit in fifth place of the Eredivisie table with 44 points from 25 games.
Pavlidis, who has now scored 11 goals in the 2019/2020 Eredivisie campaign, was substituted in the 86th minute. Marios Vrousai was used as a substitute with two minutes remaining, while Giorgos Strezos remained on the bench.
